Do I have to pay an electricity termination fee if I move?

A Texas retail provider must not assess an early-termination fee because of a customer relocation when the customer provides a forwarding address and, if required, reasonable evidence that they no longer occupy the contracted address. Confirm the provider’s relocation process and keep written records.

Can I switch electricity providers without losing power?

At a competitive Texas address, changing retail providers normally changes the company that bills you, not the local delivery utility and wires. Confirm the requested start date and any final-provider requirements before switching.
